Acupuncturist and Herbalist
Ann Corbett is a graduate of the Won Institute in Glenside, PA, with a Masters in Acupuncture Studies. She completed her MS degree in Herbal Medicine at the Tai Sophia Institute in Laurel, Md. She has completed course-work in a two-year program of Chinese Herbal Medicine at the Tai Sophia Institute with Chinese herbalist Cara Frank and assisted in The Chinese Herb room apothecary.
Ann is a native Washingtonian and grew up in the Washington, DC area. She graduated with a BA degree in English literature from Trinity College (now Trinity University) and completed a BFA from the Corcoran School of Art.
She has lived in Kensington, Md. for the last twenty-five years. She lives with her husband John and a family of cats.
She feels that the plant-based approach to health and healing of herbal medicine offers an opportunity for greater connection to our earth and to the cycles of nature. By being in tune with what is around us, we can become more aligned with the universal energies. This can accelerate our healing and help us in our journey toward balance. Acupuncture is a window into that world since it is able to stimulate our inner healing energies to promote wholeness, balance and health.
Ann is an attentive listener. She offers patients her undivided attention and seeks to understand both their physical health concerns as well as the emotional tone of their daily lives. She provides therapies that address all of these in a way that moves the patient toward a renewed commitment to enhanced health and well-being.
